Developer API Terms of Service

Terms and conditions for individual developers using the JamBase Data API.

v1.3.1Effective: October 18, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Developer API Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Developer," "you," or "your") and JamBase, Inc. ("JamBase," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the JamBase Data API ("API").

By subscribing to a Developer plan and using the API, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Developer Plan

The Developer plan is designed for individual developers and small projects. It includes:

  • Monthly API request quota as specified in your subscription
  • Rate limits as specified in your subscription
  • Access to all standard API endpoints
  • Email support

3. Permitted Use

You may use the API for:

  • Hobby and non-commercial applications — personal projects, prototypes, evaluation, academic or research use, and hobbyist sites with no revenue model.
  • Research and development
  • Educational purposes
  • Portfolio or demonstration projects
  • Production applications subject to the rate limits, quota, and overage terms of the Developer plan
  • Storing API data in your own systems, including a synced local copy of the data your plan includes, for as long as your account is active. Keep that copy current by applying updates and removals from the API (see our Bulk Ingest guide), and delete it as described in Section 12

4. Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Production deployments serving end users in a commercial product or service — including redistributing the data, embedding it in a paid product, or powering external-facing customer experiences. Move to Startup or higher for commercial production traffic.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute API data to third parties
  • Create competing data products or services
  • Circumvent rate limits or usage quotas
  • Use automated means to exceed your subscription limits
  • Access the API from multiple accounts to circumvent limits

5. API Key Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API key. You must:

  • Keep your API key confidential
  • Not share your API key with third parties
  • Immediately notify us of any unauthorized use
  • Not embed API keys in client-side code or public repositories

6. Attribution

You must provide attribution to JamBase when displaying data obtained from the API. Attribution requirements are detailed in our Attribution Guidelines.

7. Quotas and Overage

Your subscription includes a monthly API request quota. Usage beyond your quota may be subject to overage charges as specified in your subscription terms. We will notify you when you approach your quota limits.

If a charge cannot be collected, we will notify you by email with the date your access will be suspended if the issue is not resolved. You then have a grace period to update your payment method or pay the outstanding balance. If the issue remains unresolved after the grace period, API access on your account will be suspended. Access is restored automatically once payment is received; your account and data remain intact during a suspension.

8. Service Level

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime for the API. However, the Developer plan does not include an SLA. For guaranteed uptime commitments, consider upgrading to a paid plan.

9. Data Accuracy

While we make reasonable efforts to ensure data accuracy, we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Event data is provided by venues, artists, and third-party sources and may be subject to change.

10. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the API, including all data, remain the exclusive property of JamBase. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the API in accordance with these Terms.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information in connection with your use of the API is described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, your API access will be revoked and you must delete all cached or stored API data within 30 days.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE API IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

14. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL JAMBASE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JamBase from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the API or violation of these Terms.

16. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes. Continued use of the API after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
